Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT places an emphasis on helping individuals learn to change thinking and behavior patterns. Through exercises in group as well as “homework” exercises outside of sessions, patients are helped to develop coping skills, whereby they can learn to change their own thinking, problematic emotions, and behavior.

CBT emphasizes what is going on in the person’s current life, rather than what has led up to their difficulties. A certain amount of information about one’s history is needed, but the focus

is primarily on moving forward

in time to develop more

effective ways of coping with life.

Dialectial Behavioral Therapy

‘Dialectical’ means trying to understand how two things that seem opposite could both be true. For example, accepting yourself and changing your behavior might feel contradictory. But DBT teaches that it's possible for you to achieve both these goals together.

DBT helps the patient understand

and accept their difficult feelings,

learn skills to manage them, and then be able to make positive changes in their life.

Internal Family Systems

IFS is a transformative tool that conceives every human being as a system of protective and wounded inner parts lead by a core Self. We believe the mind is naturally multiple and that is a good thing. Just like members of a family, inner parts are forced from their valuable states into extreme roles within us. Self is in everyone. It can’t be damaged. It knows how to heal.

IFS is frequently used as an evidence-based psychotherapy, helping people heal by accessing and healing their protective and wounded inner parts. IFS creates inner and outer connectedness by helping people first access their Self and, from that core, come to understand and heal their parts.

It is also a way of understanding personal and intimate relationships and stepping into life with the 8 Cs: confidence, calm, compassion, courage, creativity, clarity, curiosity, and connectedness.

Recreational Therapy

Recreational therapy is a systematic process that utilizes recreation and other activity-based interventions to address the assessed needs of individuals, for psychological and physical health, recovery and well-being.

The purpose of the RT process is to improve or maintain physical, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual functioning in order to facilitate full participation in life.

Recreational therapy includes, but is not limited to, providing treatment services and recreation activities to individuals using a variety of techniques including arts and crafts, animals, sports, games, dance and movement, drama, music, and community outings. Recreational therapists treat and help maintain the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of their clients by seeking to reduce depression, stress, and anxiety; recover basic motor functioning and reasoning abilities; build confidence; and socialize effectively.

Neuro Emotional Technique

NET was originally developed as a way of finding and correcting an emotional/stress component that was related to a physical problem, very early on patients started reporting that the ‘dramas’ of their lives were improving too.

Patients found they were feeling significantly less stressed, happier, more at ease, and so on.

Art Therapy

Art therapy is a tool therapists use to help patients interpret, express, and resolve their emotions and thoughts. Patients work with an art therapist to explore their emotions, understand conflicts or feelings that are causing them distress, and use art to help them find resolutions to those issues.
