Graduate Student at Colorado Christian
I’ve learned that so much of the magic of counseling has to do with the relationship between the counselor and the client. My job when I sit down in the counseling room is to really get to know and understand you. It can be hard to share thoughts and feelings with a stranger, and I admire you taking the step towards greater health and happiness, so maybe I can share a little about myself to make me less of a stranger to you.
I am originally from Lexington KY where I worked as a coffee shop manager before I entered the mental health and clinical counseling graduate program at Colorado Christian University. I have my undergraduate degree in studio art with a minor in art history from Eastern Kentucky University. I come from a big family to which I can trace my interest in psychology and relationship, but I also love coffee, hiking, and my dog Ruby.
My approach to counseling is active, holistic, and goal oriented. My hope is to work together with my clients to find a method of treatment that works for you and meets your counseling needs. I love working with adolescents and adults and I particularly enjoy working with those experiencing emotional hang-ups like depression and anxiety, relational difficulties, and life transitions. Issues like these can make us feel stuck, and hopeless to move forward. I want to get into the trenches with you and help you take those steps to your own way out.
